Brachot to Danny Ophir at 70

Dear Danny,

Mazaltov on your 70th birthday. I remember you at the Frumkin
gatherings on your 50th and your 60th birthdays: sprightly, enthusiastic, charming and interested. May you continue for another 50 birthdays. To your credit, the Frumkins remember the wonderful feats of our famous family. Our children (and grandchildren) are grateful to you. Best wishes,
Shalva Weil (nee Dimson), Ilana, Shalom, Eldad and Gilad

Dear Danny:

We wish you a very happy 70th birthday. Thank you for all the hard work and dedication you have shown in maintaining the Frumkin Foundation and family ties. I am very proud to be a member of the Frumkin Foundation. My grandmother Batia Efros and my mother Carmela Kalmanson taught me the importance of our heritage and of being a Frumkin.

Because of your work, and the work of other family members, the Foundationis a valuable source of connection, of family information and togetherness.I never travel without consulting my copy of the Family's contactinformation to see which distant cousin I can make a familiar one. I am now teaching my son, Brandon Epstein, his heritage.Thank you. Yom Huledet Sameach. May we have peace now and forever.

Dear Danny

It has been my pleasure to work with Danny and the Frumkin Foundation for a long, long time and to receive Danny's good wishes on my efforts. I have been translating the Frumkin Newsletter for perhaps 20 years now and know that it is well received by everyone who speaks English!

Chag sameach to all. Happy birthday to Danny.Stay well and keep the family connection strong

Dear Danny

We wish we could be with you in person to express our love and admiration and to say "Mazal Tov"as you celebrate your 70th birthday surrounded by your loved ones. We wish you many more years of good health together with your dear family. May you continue with great strength your most important leadership role. You truly are blessed for you have strengthened and deepened our appreciation for our extended family. It is now the youngest generation, our grandchildren, who are learning the stories anew.

I first heard the stories about our family in Israel and England when I was a young child in Cleveland Ohio. My dear mother,Batia Naviasky Efros, z'l, whose yortzeit we honored last Shabbat, read the letters, she received from her brothers in England and sisters in Israel, to my sister Israela and to me. We felt so close to our family across the seas even before we had an opportunity to meet face to face.

Now, with the new development in communication technology, the family website and the jet plane, we are privileged to meet on line and in person more frequently. We enjoyed viewing the pictures of you growing up.

Love and L'hitraot,
Carmela and Martin Kalmanson

Dear Danny,
We look forward regularly to reading the Frumkin Newsletter, and keeping up to date on the family website. We all owe you such a debt for bringing together our dispersed family. Especially when we are unable to join you in person, we can be with you at least in spirit.

We look forward to the next 50 years of your continued involvement in this wonderful family.

With our best wishes for a happy and peaceful year,

Elroy and Helen Dimson

Dear Danny,

Mazal tov mazal tov on your seventieth birthday -- ben shiv'im lesevah! May the Al--ty grant you many more years of strength, energy, fulfilment and blessing.

You've done wonderful work in connecting the ever-multiplying strands of the Frumkin family, by the gatherings you organise, the newsletter you produce, and the work you have done in republishing many of R. Aryeh Leib Frumkin's writings. That is a great mitzvah: the sense of identity of the Jewish people comes from our seeing ourselves as a single, vastly extended family, and whatever strengthens the bonds of particular families strengthens also our sense of
belonging to Am Yisrael.

The imagination and vision of Reb Aryeh Leib is precisely what we need today: a deep commitment to Torah, a sense of history, a love of Eretz Yisrael, the courage to be a pioneer, and the willingness to work with people across the religious and social spectrum in a project that embraces us all. May his work continue to inspire us as it has inspired you.

May today's celebrations add a Frumkin dimension to zman simchatenu, and may Hashem continue to bless you in all you do.

Bibrakhah ve-yedidut chamah,

Jonathan Sacks

Dear Cousin Danny:

Happy Healthy 70th birthday to you and many happy returns.

We--- Karen, and my children, Andrew & Laura Weitzner (I, Karen am the daughter of Israel Efros Levine Tick, and the granddaugther of Batia Neviasky Efros, of blessed memory) --- wish we could be with you and all of the family as
you hold the annual Frumkin family reunion. We can always hope for next year as our hearts are with you and we celebrate with you in spirit.....

Danny, we want to thank you for all your work and effort on keeping the Frumkin Family together and sending us the marvelous newsletter that keeps us informed of our worldwide family. We love reading about all the births, weddings,
b'nai mitzvohs and other simchas of family members whether we we know them personally and well, or even if the family members mentioned we only "know" through the newsletters--we feel connected to all of you in a very special
way--through our hearts.

The very fact that there is an annual Frumkin reunion is such a treasure and tribute to you and your hard work. We all feel connected as "Frumkins" and without you, we would not all know each other. My beloved Grandmother Batia always showered us not only with love but kept me and her 4 grandchildren (Israela and Carmela's children--besides me, there is my brother David, and Carmela's children, Nina & Helene, and later our children, her great- grandchildren) informed and connected to our relatives here in the states, but also in Israel and England, with stories of her childhood in Jerusalem, her sisters and brothers, and so many other connections; and of course then getting to meet and get to know so many of you either in the USA, Britain or in Israel, where we were fortunate to travel to and be greeting so warmly by our cousins. When we were with them, we were "home." (I still remember in 1994 Nachum Nevies laying out the huge family tree on his dining room table in Israel for me and my children to see..) My children, Andrew (19) and Laura (14) feel close to their cousins here in the States and in Israel, through our visit to Israel in 1994 where they visited and played with cousins there age, and they still speak of them often and fondly, and the visits of cousins here over various years. More recently, e-mail has brought us closer, and with the click of a button we can communicate and have become not just family, but friends.

But without your work Danny, and the Frumkin newsletter and the good works of the Frumkin foundation, we'd be doing this solo, not communicating as one, and not knowing of everyone in the family. We cannot thank you enough, as the newsletter and being part of the Frumkin family and foundation, comes as such a blessing to our home.

Keep up the good work, have a wonderful, joyous birthday, and enjoy the
family reunion.

With love,

Karen Andrew & Laura Weitzner New York(**and, as you say in your treasured newsletter, daughter and grandchildren of Israela, granddaughter and great-grandchildren of Batia Neviasky Efros, z"l)
